ACCESS

The Access Program is based on the individual needs of each student in the class.  The majority of the students involved in the Access Program have moderate to severe disabilities and the focus in geared more towards daily life skills, communication skills and individual needs.  Most students are accompanied with an Educational Assistant to their elective classes and have a small teacher/EA student ratio within the class. Core subject area curriculum and instruction is at a modified level. The Access Program provides students with transportation skills and safety, modified cooking programs, and lots of adventures within the community.  We work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, parents and other outside agencies to provide instruction and proper modifications for the students in and out of the classroom.  We also work with local community agencies to assist with transitioning programs and student goals from high school to adult life.
