A Special Welcome to our Future Grad Class of 2030!

A special welcome to all our new Burnaby Central families and grade 8 students! It is wonderful to have everyone here with us at Burnaby Central as we look forward to a new year filled with learning, growth, opportunity and community engagement.

We also recognize the need to actively cultivate the special sense of community we’ve all come to appreciate at Burnaby Central. Being intentional about creating opportunities for families and students to come together in ways that help them feel connected to the school and one another is important to us – and all of you, I am sure. We are looking forward in welcoming our new students at the Grade 8 Orientation on September 2nd! We are excited to have you join us! We will do our best to make your transition to Burnaby Central, the best it can be!

Tuesday, September 2nd– How to prepare for the Grade 8 Orientation:

  • We ask if grade 8 students arrive 5-10 minutes before the 12:30pm start time to find their way to the Large Gym.
  • Grade 8 Period 2 Class lists were posted Friday, Aug 29th 12pm on the glass garage doors by the track and field side of the school. Students and parents are more than welcome to come by to the school to find out their period 2 teacher.
  • During the grade 8 orientation, students will receive and participate in the following:
      • 12:30pm-1pm – students will receive an orientation lead by the Burnaby Central Administrative Team.
      • 1pm-2:30pm – Students will meet their Period 2 teacher and enjoy activities by our Burnaby Central leadership students. Students will also receive the following information:
          • Timetable/ Schedule – How to read your schedule
          • Bell Schedule
          • Locker Information
          • Whooo’s Your Counsellor
          • Intro to MyEd Login – Instructions on how to login
          • Activities led by Burnaby Central’s leadership students
          • At 2:30pm, our Grade 8 students will be dismissed.
      • At 2:30pm, our Grade 8 students will be dismissed.
