Mission Statement
Business and Education Technology at Central provide students with the opportunity to gain business and technology knowledge, skills and attitudes to be successful in their personal lives and the ever changing world of work.
Business and Education Technology teachers at Central are committed to exploring and using appropriate technology required for students to assimilate, understand and process information to stay competitive in today’s global economy.
Life Skills? Start learning proper keyboarding and word processing software and progress quickly to spreadsheets and presentations. Learn about the world of business and how accounting and finance make the world go round.
University bound? Everyone needs a basis in accounting and strong computer skills. Even future doctors, lawyers, and engineers will use these skills to be successful.
Creative? Learn industry-standard publishing programs and even have a chance to make the school’s annual and leave a permanent mark of your own with your school’s yearbook. Work with Photoshop and InDesign CS3.
Business school? If you wish to take future business classes after high-school, a must is economics and accounting. With our new AP Microeconomics 12 class, you could earn university credits in high school. Marketing is another class that will build on your energy and creativity while you run the school stores. Learn it all now before UBC, SFU, BCIT or college.
Technology? Take the advanced courses in grade 9 or computer courses as a senior. Take charge of your own learning and investigate computer hardware or software that leads you forward. Learn to create in Flash and how to publish professional websites. Direct your own video with specialized sound, animations, special effects and publish this to DVD.
