Mission Statement

Burnaby Central is committed to being an inclusive school.  Most of our students experience success within a regular classroom setting.  Learning Support Services strives to meet the needs of all learners by offering a variety of programs, resources, and learning strategies to a wide range of students who require support, adaptations or Individual Education Plans.

Programs

Outreach

Burnaby Central operates an open door learning support model. Students are not scheduled into blocks of support but are able to access support at any time in the Outreach room. The Outreach room is open from 8 am to 4 pm.

Pre-Employment/Work Orientation

The Pre-Employment program allows students to learn their core academics of Math, English, Socials and Science in a modified form and in a small group setting of up to 10 students.

Access

The Access Program is based on the individual needs of each student in the class. Most students are accompanied with an Educational Assistant to their elective classes…
